Mineral exploration survey in Transbaikalia region
The survey has been done to image the skarn-related ore deposit, which is localized at the edge of the intrusion, penetrated into the sedimentary formation. We didn't expect any significant conductivity anomalies, since the deposit was considered as porphyry-stringer type, but it turned out that the area displayed high contrast conductive zones.
Both magnetic (located in magnetite skarns) and non-magnetic polarizable sulphide ores have been discovered in the survey area. Differentiation by the ore type has been done based on EM imaging (IP and AMT) and Magnetic surveying.
Now, the survey area is covered by the detailed borehole network and rich accumulations of iron, gold and copper have been confirmed recently.
